Ready for something new? Something fresh? The outdoor and activity community is on the cusp of a new era and we could not be more excited. If you're like us, life is an adventure to be lived and active experiences are a key ingredient - the weekly ride, hitting out on that new trail run, the long planned ski adventure or just hiking with friends. We love them all and at Factum we are about to make it easier to plan the next adventure, unite with friends to help you achieve the goal and then celebrate the pure joy of the moments.
The Factum founders, David Head and David Wakeman (lets just call them ‘The Daves’) realised that there really was not an app based community dedicated to the needs of those looking to unite together to participate in an activity. A place for those with a similar interest can come together, that feels fun to be involved in no matter if you just want to participate for wellbeing or are a dedicated sport enthusiast.
Beauty and Simplicity in Factum Design
Factum is getting close to its beta release (you can sign up to our newsletter if you would like to help us test and shape features!). From the outset we want to take friction out of simple tasks - for example the weekly group ride. Build a group, chat, post ride routes, the coffee stop, vote on them, get real time weather / air quality alerts, let the group know if you can't make it in one touch. We are especially excited also about how we will bring photos and video together as well, but more on this later. A key facet of all of the flows in Factum is the clean, beautiful interface that has been created. We want it to be simple, easy to navigate and a great experience.
The Anticipation Builds: What’s Next for Factum?
The founders are at the Tour Down Under this week testing Alpha candidates in the South Australian summer sun so look out for the Daves in Factum shirts and say hello! We will provide more glimpses into features as we get closer to the release and also in upcoming posts discuss our approach to privacy of data. We are excited to be bringing a new place for active communities in Factum very soon!
